Essays on Stone and Light: Works by The MacInnes Brothers

Through two different art mediums, brothers Dugald and Roddy MacInnes have interpreted the same Scottish landscape. These mosaics and photographs lend expression to the influence of place and memory in the development of identity.

Dugald creates abstract impressions using Scottish slate to recreate emotional responses from childhood memory. His connection to the landscape is influenced by regional geology and archaeology. Different stimuli affected the childhood experience of Roddy. His photographs memorialize locations of significant memory associations.
